Pattern is Full

This buzzed our house a few weekends ago.

I rushed out side with my paint brush in hand the first 2 times and then on the third I ran out with my camera.  Landing gear down?  Strange no?

Edit:  Info on the Vulcan

And this rather fruity looking one.

I think they were trying to take the tiles off of my roof...

The top photo is a Vulcan. I thought they were phased out after the Falklands war. The next appears to me to be a Falcon, but I don't recognize that paint scheme.

Hey Harry, I know the first one is a vulcan. I didnt know what the 2nd one was. But that is a funky paint job. I live over 10 miles from a base. But they were so low. The noise was deafening. and I for sure thought I lost some roof tiles.

And there was me thinking that there was only one Vulcan flying today - well not flying anymore since the last display, but now mothballed in Bristol.

Hey Tom, maybe that is where is was going to.... coming from Bristol or going to Bristol. I cant think why else it would be near my house... Mothballed? It looks ok to me? But what do I know. Lol

That's a little scary. You hear of planes crashing into houses.

I dont know, maybe they were practising for an air show. or returning somewhere. who knows. Didnt like them so close as they made a few fly bys. Far too low near our village church spire. That is the edge of my house you can see how low it is. The church is one street away.

It's not a Vulcan.

I dont know Tom, it kind of looks like the one in the picture on the link? Im no expert. It just flew by my house. They are having it in most air shows at the moment before they stop using it at the end of the year.

Well, yeah, Tom. It is a Vulcan. If it's not , the only other thing with a profile like that is a Victor, and it's not a Victor. What do you think it is?

How about a UFO next time, sol?

Hey Harry, when I get home, one of the guys at work said look at the tail number. I will zoom in and we will all know what it was. I also have a picture of it from underneath for the shape. I dont know what it is. But the colours and the circles look like the one on the BBC. We will see... How cool if it a Vulcan. I will call it Spock! lol

Ray, for sure if I saw a UFO you would be the first to know. I will be asking for aloe vera for the burns on the side of my face (a la close encounters of the 3rd kind). I will try my best Ray!

Sol, I promise that is a Vulcan. I pulled up a four view profile to send you but I couldn't find an email address. One thing I don't understand is that the Royal Air Force has not had an operational squadron of Vulcans for quite some time as far as I know. But now I am curious so I am going to check around and see what I can find out. I really envy you seeing one in flight.

Hey Harry, I will look at the tail number. They use the Vulcan in airshows around the UK... It is stopping flying in even the air shows at the end of this year. We are in the Cotswolds and there are lots of air bases and little air ports here. I think it could be a Vulcan because of the circles and the colours.

If you read the link in this post that says EDIT. then you can see there that the Vulcan they use for shows has had some landing gear problems. So maybe that is why the wheels were down when I say it.

A few years ago we had some very loud and very low fly-pasts, sometimes the plane seemed low enough to brush the tops of our little Owl Wood trees, other times we could almost see the aircrews underwear. The noise scared all the animals, especially old Benedict, the horse. Noisiest of all was when they flew low in one of those huge twin rotor blade helicopters.

It turned out that the pilot's mother lived in Dovecot Dell, just across the fishpond field... Now that his mother has moved away it no longer happens. I rather miss it.
