Found in the Supermarket

How are we all set for Christmas?  Not a big song and dance in this house, we are cooking Indian food.  We have taken some lessons and we shall cook a feast.  We wont be going over the top with lots of nibbles as we never get through them and we end up with a lot of stale food.

What are you all eating for Christmas dinner?

Comments

Apologies everyone.  I have completely forgotten how to use blogger and when I went on the main dashboard it showed there were 0 comments.  As you can see there are now a few but before it said zero.  I forgot I have a comment suppression on, which lets me view it first.  I have no idea how to take it off.  But I have now found where to look at the comments again.  I wasnt ignoring you, I just didnt realise you were there!  lol

Mind like a sieve.  Well I hope you are all well in the run up to Christmas.  If you are driving on the M6 over the Christmas period I wish you luck I drove it last night and I think I clocked that there are 34 miles of road works.  They were set at 50 MPH, but as there was a lot of traffic we only did 30 and this was about 11pm.  Plan your routes to family and friends now.  It is going to be hellish.  I will leave you with a recent picture.  I have taken up pretending I can jog.  Have I told you that?  I dont want to be a bore, so I will give you the bare bones.  I started couch to 5k on the NHS website earlier in the year.  Slipped and fell and gave up.  I have started again 3 weeks ago.  All on schedule.  This is where I go if I want to be alone with my out of breath self....

Gone...

Blogger has now decided I am allowed to add my own pictures again...  I dont get it some times...

Tree surgeons here this week.  Super pleased they had good weather as they were able to take down all of the trees that were diseased or dangerously touching the house and roof.

We now have plenty of wood to split, wood stores to build and to let it all season for a few years.  In the mean time I hope that winter doesnt decide to arrive this year and we transition straight to spring.  Lets hope for a summer like last year with lovely high temperatures, or as high as they can be in Scotland.

Cant upload pictures

Cant upload pictures through blogger.  Seems they have changed it and now I cant put pictures from my desktop on my blog.  Is this happening to anyone else?  A blog post cant show you what I want to show.  You need to see the picture.  Blogger !  Grrrr I give up!

Tom and Barbara

I have no idea if it works but this is the beast in the kitchen.  What do you think {Kev} and {Dave}.  We have been reliably told it is all there and it was used right up to the 90's.

Where is home?

Picture taken on one of my walks, it shows the hills behind my house

In reply to some comments

The house is the biggest one I have ever owned and even though I grew up in a similar sized house, there were so many people in it that it felt that it was bursting at the seams.  The ceilings here are 3.8m high (I just had to google to convert that to feet!  lol  about 12.5 feet).  Original cornicing, doors and floors.

The exterior is grey granite (I think) and red sandstone (they are called quoin stones? the corners of the buildings?).  The gardens are mostly moss in the places where there should be grass.  We have to have some trees felled as they are dying or dead and the bark is peeling off of them.  A tree surgeon is going to contact us with an available date, as you can imagine it is weather dependent and if there are trees down due to high winds they will take priority to make sure all are safe.  It does make it a little 'maƱana', it is the way it is around here.

There is also a cellar of 2 small rooms, not really any head height, but it is dry and we can store a few things in there.

After a lot of time worrying about everything right now.  I am taking my own advise - Bloom where you are planted.  #yolo  Well that is the idea anyways...
