April - May 2017 read along

How are you all today?  I am good thank you, now that the weather has broken slightly and I no longer have a migraine/headache as it has now rained and thunder.  I'm like a human barometer.

I fell behind on my reading due to this, I try and keep to a schedule to make sure I finish.  Up until then, this was a really fast read and I would enjoy reading it again straight away if I could.  I dont think I will have time.

How are you doing with it?

I'm like a barometer too. When it's cloudy I have all kinds of symptoms ; they go away when rain starts. Luckily, our overall weather during the year is nice with clear skies. The outdoors call us, so reading is left for the gloomy days.

Hey DUTA, I read in the garden with my sunglasses and a drink on my swing bench. The dogs think it is their luck day and try and steal the book! Hope you are well, headaches are pesky when you need to get things done

My right knee acts as my unofficial barometer.

Finished the book about two weeks ago and since then read Richard III (for what must be something like 15th time), plus a 500-pager (Mark Haddon's 'A Spot of Bother' - pretty good)) and currently halfway through a 600-page David Baldacci. However, I am retired and have more time for reading pleasures than most can find. Who said retirement is boring? Not for me!

Hey Janet, gosh that must be a real problem in Florida with the humidity and then possible hurricanes. Ouch!

Hi Ray, I have just googled David Baldacci, he writes young adult fiction also, I would probably love his books. I dont know if anyone else, other than the two of us are reading it. Maybe Linda? I dont know, so I will wait to complete it on 21st.

I didn't know about Baldacci writing 'young fiction'. Sol. There's nothing said in the blurb about him in my current book on that, though one might guess it from some of his previous titles.

Pity there's so few of us in the read-along. I do hope others will yet join in. I'm only waiting to get the 'Kate Bush' out of the way, in this case it being my FOURTH time - and then I'm really looking forward to the uncharted territory of the Alice Walker.
