Found in the Supermarket

How are we all set for Christmas?  Not a big song and dance in this house, we are cooking Indian food.  We have taken some lessons and we shall cook a feast.  We wont be going over the top with lots of nibbles as we never get through them and we end up with a lot of stale food.

What are you all eating for Christmas dinner?

Sounds good Sol. We are having Aberdeen Angus beef and an all day, help yourself buffet with sausage rolls, ham, onion bhaji, salad...? Oh we made a sherry trifle too. No Turkey curry or Turkey sandwiches for days on end. Domino the cat and Scamp the Jack Russell will get any leftovers.

Hey Dave, beef sounds good. Do you like turkey? It would seem many dont have it now/

Hi Sol. Not really a fan of anything that's around for days. I think Turkey is good if you are feeding a lot of people. But no I find it pretty bland.

Agreed Dave, it is bland. It has some good nutrients in it though.

Too much is what we will be eating. The girls are having a plain stuffed chook, potatoes and Brussel sprouts. The men do greek.
Enjoy your Indian. Merry xmas

On Christmas Eve we're going to a restaurant. On Christmas Day we'll have a ham and some nice side dishes. Definitely no haggis.

Love,
Janie

I'll be opening a tin of Morrison's 'Baked Beans with Veggie Sausages', adding half a teaspoon of (hot) curry powder, warming up and pouring over a couple slices wholemeal toast and, as an acknowledgement to the season, placing a dozen or so sprouts on the side. Now, don't that make your mouth water?

Hey Janie, one year we will have to go to a restaurant, I cant remember ever going.

Hi Ray, Morrison's beans and veggie sausages are the best ones. Some of them are a bit mushy. To be honest I have had some christmas dinners at a certain relatives house that have been a horror and I am always too scared to eat in their house. One time, made stew, picked the meat out in the kitchen and told us it was vegetarian. Yeah. Stunned by that one. We go there with food in the car now, we have a special cool box that plugs in the lighter socket.
