Hectic! Yeah, I'm glad our house isn't on flat ground too :)

hey Dani - Ray tipped me off. seriously what is going on with the weather over here? 32 oC the other day. no wind.. no clouds

then in the SE, this happens the hail looks like snow. it is july. this is crazy

We've had beautiful blue sky and sunshine all day - couldn't believe it when I saw the news!

Wow. Our hailstorm was over in a few minutes and then it melted.

Half the monthly average in an hour?? That is a lot of rain.

I've never seen anything like yesterday morning in my entire life, Sol. If anyone still seriously maintains that what is happening to our weather and climate is just one of the 'blips' we get from time to time, well it's getting to one almighty blip. Surprises and shocks every few days somewhere in both these isles and elsewhere. Although I won't be around to see it I'm getting evermore concerned for future generations.

Absolutely. Or on stilts. Or a houseboat. Anyone who still happily buys a house on a flood plain or next to a river is bonkers. Serious floods are getting more and more frequent.

Hi ya Louise we had thunder and light showers but nothing like the SE.

Susie! OMG it looks like snow!

Ray, I cant understand why people say there is no such thing as global warming.

Nick, houses like they have in The Netherlands where they lift up maybe. and yes, no more new homes on natural flood plains. it is common sense

Yep, glad we bought at the very top of a hill. Despite the walk home from town being like climbing a mountain!

Hi Caroline, for sure that was a good move

Just be sure the water doesn't come down off the mountain slope/ hill and get up against the back of your buildings. I have to use diversion ditches to prevent that.

No rain here, for weeks now...

Hey Harry, I live in an area that floods. we don't have enough land left to divert it. Still looking for a new house. not a bean. no one is selling at the moment..

Toffeeapple, we had such huge down pours the man hole covers popped off! dry as a bone again now
