Solstice and pretties

I hope you all had a fantastic midsummer.  I spent mine in the usual fashion.  I am hoping to plant the idea of a Midsummer party in the mind of one of the more talkative Villagers.  And they might know of someone who will let us use their field.  You can hope right?

The peonies in the garden here are stunning.  I am going to move them.  I know they dont flower for long but I love them and they dont have THORNS!  hooray.

And I bought this.  I know, I know, I probably wont keep it alive but there is nothing other than fig trees and grapevines that says holiday more to me than bougainvillea.

It just screams at me.  I love it.  I really do.

coming up roses

There are 26 rose bushes and climbing roses in the garden.

They are all coming up and then dug out in September.  They will go to their new home with my friend who can care for them and do them justice.

I actually have a real garden plan, for the front garden. whoop whoop

The back garden has to wait.  As it is where our main wood store will be and a large stone patio area.

We are investigating stone for the front wall.  It will be dry stone, then pillars and an electric gate.  Keep the riff raff out. lol

Just keep plugging away at it.

winter

Winter is coming, as they say in Game of Thrones.

Above is some of the leylandii that were cut down.

It will be split and seasoned for a few years and burnt as starter fuel.  Please dont bother to leave comments that we shouldnt burn it.  I will in 2-3 years either way, you will just get mad at me when I mention it later.

This picture is for {Kev}, 'dont feel bad about your weeds'.  This is my front garden.
Piles of tongue and groove wood cladding, some other rubbish.
Weeds as far as the eye can see.

And weeds in the gravel.
(The logs are in the front garden, on the drive, in front of the garage and in the back garden.  Our wood shed is going to be huge.  A lovely eye sore for all the people in the village with gardeners and seperate lawn care men.  Yes they have specialists for their lawns.  I am unsure of what they do that is special...)

Come back to me later whilst I think of an excuse for it...  lol
