Voting is now open

Voting is now open in the side bar for the read along.

*Very important, please choose 8 all at once, before pressing vote.  It will not allow you to vote again.  Sorry I have no idea how to change this.*

p.s. the above book case is a house goal of mine!

TBH none of those set me on fire to want to read though I did read Lord of the Flys and Animal Farm at school though I preferred George Orwells 1984, you can see his grave in the blog link

Pity that voting is for only one, Sol. There are seven on your list which I haven't read and, after googling them all, had to settle for just the one although at least four of the others intrigue me quite as much.

- and I will get back to you for 'Purple' amid all the turmoil going on here which, it looks like, will continue for some considerable time yet.

Hi Bill, I am going off of recommendations at present. I have been trying to read the classics and the read along seems to really help me hit the goal every month, (bar the blip where my parents have needed me).

Hey Ray, I will have to look at changing the voting as I cant remember setting it at that? As you know I am not really up with buttons etc on my blog

Hi Ray, I have redone it, please choose all 8 at once. THanks for letting me know

Thanks, Sol. I've voted for the seven that I haven't read. Maybe the one that I voted for yesterday will now get a double endorsement from me, but I'm okay with that. (I would be wouldn't I?).

With such a big, emergency clear-out of my possessions necessitated here, already many of my books, including some on this list ('Lord Jim' certainly, and maybe 'Brave New World' as well) have gone to charity shops with a lot more still to go the same way. Well, that's too bad. If they come up in your votes I'll just have to acquire them again. However, the way things are right now not sure how I'll get the time to read much over coming weeks anyway, but we'll have to play it day by day.

Hey Ray, you join in if you can dont worry. I know exactly how stressful it is moving and finding somewhere. I hope you find somewhere nice and with good transport links

Thanks, Sol. My present and more realistic hope is that Mr Nasty in the flat under me might be booted out or he might be detained in a certain 'institution' - though right now he could well be back in a few days time. If he is to suffer one of these preferred (by me) fates then at least that'll take the immediate pressure off me to find an alternative place quickly, though I'd go on trying. That's my current line of thinking and hoping.

Ray, I have suffered horrid neighbours before, I was actually scared of the wife she was mentally ill. We moved as quickly as we could as I couldnt stay in the house on my own. I know how horrid the stress must be right now. Beaming you some luck on finding a lovely new home.

I have read Harris and Steinbeck and don't fancy any of the others - sorry Sol. I shall continue with early 20th Century women writers since it is such a rich seam.

Hi Toffeeapple. No problem. Maybe after these, I can do those.

I voted. Hopefully I'll be reading them all this time. I have rather gone off the classics and Purple I only read a piece of. Some of the books on your list this time I have read and enjoyed in the past and will be happy to read again.
I'll wait and see the final list
Hope all is well with your family now!

Hey Linda, there are a few more days of voting I think.... We are all holding on here. Hope you and your family are also well.
