Window Dressing

This shop window is in Quimper, Brittany.  They sure had a lot of people stopping to look at it.  A lady in the shop opposite said that they had complained about it.  It was still there, so I think the shock value was making sales in the shop.

I love the window displays in London for Christmas... not long now.  Was that a groan I just heard?

The shops are already full of stuff and decorations.  Its as if as soon as the schools go back it must be Christmas...

Have you bought any presents?  I haven't!  lol

Hey Susie, I am hoping that I my nephew and great nieces have got to the point where money is real interesting and not just the boxes of a present.

Nope, no presents bought yet. In fact no presents bought for over 20 years.
Btw: What's Bob Geldof doing sitting in the window on the right?

hi Ray, the present thing becomes a real problem

What's to complain about? The depiction of a disabled person rather than someone "normal" and attractive? Get a grip, lady.

I haven't bought any presents yet, but I don't have many to give. No children or grandchildren and only one or two close friends.

Hi ya Nick, I didnt think it was about people being disabled, I thought maybe it was people injured at war? I think their complaint maybe was about using the French Flag and the USA flags as bandages and slings? The French flag isn't pictured. it was in the side window. maybe I didn't explain well. I don't speak French well at all and I was given only the brief amount of explanation from Posh Boy, so his translation lacked something obviously. The body language from the lady from the other shop seemed really quite upset about it.

I would actually like to give up the presents side of Christmas. And just have a massive no holds barred meal. None of us want for anything. and it is becoming really hard to buy anything. it used to be my nieces went through the argos catalogue and wrote out all the things they wanted. page number, price the lot. now they have kids so I buy for them. But they have ipads now and they don't look up or really play with many toys so it is all superfluous to requirement.

What are they selling, battle dressings!

We don't buy presents, really. We send the kids some money for whatever they judge they need the most. The wife and I just try to take a little overnight trip somewhere for our Christmas treat.

Hi ya Harry, I tried to leave a comment on your blog the other day. it may have been me but it didn't appear? I don't know what I did... Anyways moving on

The shop is a clothing outlet for men. when we could see lots of German people standing there looking at something it became of interest to us, I am not so tall so we had to wait for the tour guide to move on and then we could get a look. that is when the woman came out.

I am unsure if the French people get upset by the use of the flag for clothing etc. All I can think of is that and maybe war. and she thought it was bad taste. and also because people had their backs to her shop when looking there? who knows.

Sol, I have that number thing enabled to stop the spam I am being overrun with. Sometimes, people don't see it and they leave their comment and leave the page but it isn't saved because they didn't type in the little numbers. I hope that didn't happen to you because I always enjoy your comments.
