To plot my course and see where my life is heading I have decided that on Fridays I will post about the same things.
The price of petrol, eggs, milk and bread.
Along with my food bill for the week, (I dont tend to do a weekly shop. I tend to shop once every 3 weeks and then top up with milk and eggs when needed). I will then be able to check and give an average of the purchases.
Through the summer I may also add in about the food harvested from my garden.
My first full post will be next Friday, I would be delighted if anyone would like to join in. It could be quite fun to see not only regional differences but even International differences in prices. Some super organised people may also be able to do the menu plan for their next week.
If you would like to participate, I will be knocking up a template that I will use each week.
What do you think? What other things could we include?

Butter, cream, cheese but it would have to be like for like, some people only buy from the cheapest shops others from farmers markets with lots of in-between combinations.
To answear a question you put on Northsider Dave's post, black plastic sacks do work but work out quite expensive and are hard to keep pegged down, black woven weed fabric does not work the weeds come through. If you live in the countryside have a word with a friendly farmer to see if he can let you have part of a used silage cover, this is very tough plastic, you can walk on it without damage. We planted all our fruit bushes through it four years ago, it's still in place, no tears despite being frequently walked on.
What about what's the price of a pint of your favourite beer Sol?
Hi, is it Anne? I cant find your name on your blog. It is more of a mass observation just what milk is where you are and briefly what you buy.
For instance, Gill, from Frugal in Derbyshire has mentioned lots of foods on her blog that I have at home and I am not quite sure what to do with it. The game and venison in my freezer then became the Game Pie on her blog. I have bought things mentioned on Kev from An English Homestead.
The silage covers are a good idea. It depends on how big an area it is.
Dave, we can include beer or alcohol. I am quite partial to a Spitfire. But has also had a, I think it was called a hob goblin ginger beer the other day. the labels are from a company called Wychwood. they are in Oxfordshire. Yum

Apple Jacks?
You left out ammunition, Sol!
I like your idea. I'm a fanatic about recording the price of everything I buy on "Quicken" and then bouncing the price of the same item off todays price and a year ago today.
Sounds like a good idea, Sol. Perhaps you should add the cost of your LP gas too - from Sky new it seems as if there is a gas price war in the UK.
Hey Susie, are apple jacks breakfast cereals? you can list anything you like that you think is valid.
Harry, I think very few people in the UK would be able to as where a shop was to buy ammunition let alone them actually buying it. Apart from when in the Countrywide store getting salt lick blocks, I havent seen anyone buying shot gun shells even. Guns over here are so rare. I doubt very much if anyone who comments on my blog actually owns a fire arm.
Please feel free to add it to your list. you just need to note the price each week. you dont actually have to buy it.
Hey Dani, for sure everyone can add anything they want to their list. most people over here maybe locked into the prices for their gas on a fixed term. Else we would really be at the mercy of the gas companies. It might be worth people adding the price of heating oil. I have no experience of this so it maybe that they buy it twice a year? Can anyone answer this?
