Orange like the sunset...

I am loving that we found a patio under the grass, along with some path ways.  We now have an area to put the patio table and chairs.  And my favourite thing, the orange parasol.

The bridge is filthy and the washing line is still up, but this shows you the area closest to the house.  it is zoomed in to miss the orange wheel barrow and buckets that are lined up.  In the back ground you can see our newly made fence to keep the dogs in this area in the garden, where they cant make a break for freedom.  They pace the fence like you see animals in the zoo.  Looking for a weakness I expect.  Then they flop down under the shade of the apple trees and then 20 minutes later pace the fence again.  I wonder what they are thinking...

It really is a garden of discovery. I wonder what you'll uncover next. I love the little bridge. Are there any trolls underneath? 😆 X

Your hard work is paying off. That area looks idyllic - no one would ever guess how much toil went into it. I hope you take plenty of time to enjoy what you have achieved. As to the dogs, they just want to go off ratting.

Fabulous parasol!

LOL...I WISH I knew what our dogs were thinking!! :) We've put up some temporary fence, but we still keep the huskies tied up on a long rope because they could easily jump it. I love your orange parasol!

Great photo. The bridge gives your garden an Oriental look. I think your garden would look good with lights or even Chinese lanterns? Have you sat outside yet with a drink?

Hey Jules, sorry no trolls, baby frogs that my dogs bark at and a lot of pond weed that seems to decompose really quickly in the compost tumbler?! When we get rid of the pond as it is too close to the house and I want a really large patio area to sit in and have people over, we will keep the bridge as the dogs love sitting on it! ha ha funny dogs!

Oh my gosh Elaine you are completely right. They had a rat bitten in half on the back step the other day and were barking like mad till I went out and looked at it. I love orange and I think the parasol is really needed for us else we wouldnt sit out there.

Hey Rain, I read somewhere they huskies can jump over 6 foot fences really easily. Our dogs arent that big at all, little terriers that are 10-11 inches at the shoulder. So really small compared to yours. Our picket fence is 3'9 or 120cm. The parasol rocks. we have 2 now.

Hey Dave, I already have bistro lights strung up in the tree behind the parasol and the apple trees. they are solar powered they are really nice and give a warm glow. I saw them on another bloggers post and went to B&M and snapped them up! I love them. Simple things and all that...

we have the wind chimes the Buddha and the stream. The lady who lived here before had a hidden zen garden and meditation area... My older dog barks like mad at the buddha, I think he thinks he is invading the garden. He is scared of his own shadow...

I feel like I'm late to the ball - just found your blog and I've been reading through lots of your back posts. I think we are both Gypsies! I have lived in 27 (at the latest count) homes and as well as that I have gone camping for years, just me and my dog. (several dogs over the years) Lived in a caravan for 5 happy years, on a private site where I was allowed to stay residential all year round and it was only 3 miles from my workplace.
Anyway, I really, really hope you will return to blogging again after your summer sabbatical 'cos I want to see more of your Cornish photos and your garden discoveries and clearances. It's like The Lost Gardens of Heligan but on a (thankfully) smaller scale!
I have also had breaks from blogging, but am usually persuaded to return and spout more nonsense, either flowers in the garden, walks with the dog (yet another dog) or visits to pretty places, mostly in Cornwall.
So please come back refreshed and bring us up to date with the house & garden, the dogs, the walks, etc. Please? - Rosemary x
