Again! The Handmaid's Tale.

Phew, I have read it.  I am going to read it again straight away!

That is going to be me!

I was recently given a paperback copy of Bleak House, as I said to one of the ladies at work that I loved reading Dickens in December.  Looking forward to it!

Happy weekend!

Enjoy! I have managed to read just one book so far this year and it was a bit rubbish. X

Margaret Atwood is great, but I admit that some of her more recent dystopian writing is beyond me.

Love,
Janie

Hmmmm. Better get my skates on and acquire a copy quick - as well as one of 'Purple'. Reluctant to use Amazon 'cos of the reputation they've now got but I'll get them from somewhere.

Hi Sol. I watched the new series on Channel 5: Carry On Camping. I thought of all the great times you will have in Cornwall.

Hi Jules, what was the book? could you read it again to see if you like it more?

Hey Janie, I read this book at school. I am wondering if this is where my fascination of dystopian writing came from.

Hi Ray, I hope you like this book. I am wondering what you might think of it!

Hello Dave, I think we saw that programme before, there is a large man with a mankini isnt there?

Half way through, although I remembered the outline story from when I read it originally I had forgotten a lot of it so it's good to re-read.

Yes Sol there is the man in the mankini and people having a Spanish Paella theme party and dressing up for Christmas in the summer. At least with a caravan you can move away if you don't like your new neighbours.

Hey Chickpea, so pleased you are joining in! Butter hand cream! eew

Hi Dave, I have seen that one. Like you say if we dont like it, we can move somewhere else ;)

I think I need to re-read The Handmaid's Tale - it must be 20 years since I last read it. I'm afraid it may unleash a torrent of feminist ranting from me though...

Hey Gillian! Go on! Please read it. I have told my 2 eldest nieces they have to read it. Any opinion is valued! Unleash the feminist cracken. You know I feel I am getting a lot out of reading all of these books and not just keep to my normal easy to read Young Adult fiction. I'm loving it!
